

illness on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Durgin Pines in Kittery. He was born in
Freeport on September 24, 1932, the son of Erland Liberty an Evelyn
(Bennett) Jones.
Buck was raised in Yarmouth and graduated from North Yarmouth Academy’s class of 1951. After graduation, he went on to join the Air Force, where he served four years, from 1951-1955. He served his country during the Korean War. After returning from war and being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Buck worked for the Maine State Police from 1958 to 1979, retiring with the rank of sergeant. Once he left the force, he delivered flowers for local florists in the Portsmouth, NH area from 1981 to 2007.
Buck is survived by his wife, Nancy (Ridlon) Jones of Eliot; his daughters,
Katherine J. and her husband Peter Bachelder of Ellsworth and Cheryl J. and
her husband John Watson of Eliot; his grandchildren Jeff A. Main and wife
Nicole of Eliot; Heather A. Watson and her partner Trista White of South
Berwick; and Chelsea K. Watson of South Berwick; his great-granddaughter
Shelby Watson Dupuis of South Berwick; sister-in-law Joanne Jones of
Scarborough; his brother Melvin “Wimpy” Jones and his wife Pat of
Yarmouth; his great-grand dogs Lakota and Brady; and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his parents, Buck was predeceased by his brother Alan “Pete”
Jones.
Friends may call at Lindquist Funeral Home 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth,
Maine on Thursday, August 3, 2017, from 3-4 p.m., with a service starting at 4 p.m. immediately following services, Buck’s interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Yarmouth.
The family would like to thank the staff at York Hospital and Durgin Pines for
their care and kindness during this difficult time.
