
Freeport – Horace “Phil” Rowe passed away November 6, 2010 at his home in Freeport after a lengthy illness. He was born in Freeport on February 20, 1931 a son of Grace (Williams) Rowe and Horace Philbrick Rowe, Sr. He attended Freeport High School and the University of Maine, Orono. During the Korean Conflict he served four years in the US Air Force.
Phil was former member of the Freeport Planning Board, Freeport Fire Department and a member of the American Legion Post 83. He retired from the Freeport Post Office in 1991. He and his wife spent winters at their home in St. Cloud, FL.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn; son Kenneth Rowe and his wife Lisa of Tega Cay, SC; son William Rowe of Freeport; brother Earle Rowe of Mt. Vernon, ME; grandson William Rowe, Jr. and his mother Annemarie Folan of Portland; granddaughter Lindsey Rowe of Tega Cay, SC; great-granddaughter Meadow; his Aunt Audrey of Columbia, MD; one niece, two nephews, several cousins, dear friends Paul and Phyllis Roy of Brunswick and his beloved Bichon “Sami”.
