

Pownal – James Harold Graham, Jr., 70, of Pownal, passed away on December 4, 2014 surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness. He was born on August 18, 1944 in Denver, CO. After his family moved back to Maine, he graduated from Bangor High School and attended Husson College in Bangor. Jim joined the US Army Reserve in 1967 and served for four years.
Jim loved photography at a very early age and later became an award winning photojournalist, first at WABI/TV in Bangor. In 1968 Jim moved to Portland to take a position as a photojournalist at WGAN/WGME-TV. He retired from WGME after 30 years.
Jim served as a Pownal School Board member for two terms and was a member of the Acacia Masonic Lodge in Durham. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carlene Lawson Graham; his son Jamie Graham of Belfast; his brothers: Ronald of FL and Donald of Bangor; his sisters: Donna Bergquist of Woolwich, Diana Olsen of Otisfield, Patricia Gelinas of Portland and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved son Joel and his parents, Virginia Ames Graham and James H. Graham, Sr.
There will be a gathering of remembrance for family and friends at his home on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 592 Hodsdon Road, Pownal from 3-6 PM.
