"A Loved Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend"
Born and raised in Lowell, Massachusetts, the son of John and Kathleen (Kathy) O'Meara Peskovitz, the family summered many years at Rye Beach, NH. John attended Immaculate Conception School and Westbridge Academy, graduated from Lowell High School, Northern Essex Community College and went on to study marketing at St. Joseph's College in Windham, Maine.
John's career of over 30 years in the automotive sales industry had a coastal route from Portland to Caribou, Maine, where he developed many friendships with customers.
Sales came easily for John. He had the gift of a love of life and ability to connect with all people, even strangers, making them feel as though he had known them forever.
When John first met Robyn they spent a lot of time skiing in Maine and New Hampshire.
They were married on September 3, 1994, and together created a life and home in Freeport. There were many porch parties, pool parties, campfires and New Year's Eve bonfires.
John loved their cats and the wildlife surrounding their home.
Teaching his young nieces and nephews how to swim, dive and scuba in the pool was something that gave John joy. Everyone would applaud at their synchronized dives. John was one of the youngest certified scuba instructors in Massachusetts.
John and Robyn enjoyed boating on Casco Bay and camping and picnics on many of the local islands. Fun vacations were also enjoyed ... with friends to Canada, Key West, road trips to Florida, and a 10 day boating cruise with 7 family members from Tierra Verde to Dry Tortugas and back on sister Gayle's boat.
Cribbage was a big passion of John's, and he could often be found playing the game with friends and relatives.
John's "St. Joe's" College buddies were his best friends - like brothers. They had an amazingly rare bond, constantly texting each other to stay in touch. The "Crew" at St. Joe's College would become lifelong friends.
John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Robyn, his mother Kathy, and brother Brad of Dover, NH; sisters-in-law Mary Peskovitz, Brenda Skillin, Gayle Gordon and Gloria DeGrandpre; nieces and nephews Nikki Rousseau (Ryan), Evan Peskovitz, Sydney Peskovitz, John Skillin (Rachael), Sonya Hayes (Mark), Allison Garrett (Bobby), Kathy DeGrandpre (Colin Stacey) and Karen DeGrandpre; grand nieces and nephews Wyatt and Callen Rousseau, Griffin Day (Nicole), Caroline Day, Amelia Skillin, Madeline Ell and Jordan Stacey.
John was predeceased by his father John Peskovitz and brother Gary Peskovitz; father-in-law Edwin Fogg, mother-in-law Barbara Fogg, sister-in-law Rebecca Stilkey, brothers-in-law John Skillin, Bruce Gordon, David DeGrandpre and Dave Stilkey.
