

Aderito was born in Sao Paio, Gouveia, Portugal to Manuel and Rosa Guerra. He immigrated to the United States in 1973 with his wife, Maria Guerra.
Aderito is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Maria Guerra; his children, George Guerra (Celia) and Susie Guerra (Daniel); his grandchildren, Matthew, Tiago, Sofia and Carmine; his brothers Antonio Guerra, Joao Guerra, Rogerio Guerra, his sister Lourdes Guerra and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Rosa Guerra as well as his brother Jose Guerra.
In his lifetime, Aderito worked in the Dietary Department at St. John’s Riverside Hospital for over 35 years. He was devoted to his family and after he retired he dedicated his time to raising his grandkids. He was a longtime devoted member of the Portuguese American Community Center. Aderito was also everyone’s handyman and would often be seen helping a neighbor or a friend with anything. He was the first to offer someone a ride when they needed it. Aderito enjoyed cooking up a great Portuguese meal in the kitchen. Aderito is also a veteran of the Portuguese Army and served from 1966-1969, in Portugal and Africa.
Visiting hours will be held at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, located at 168 Park Ave, Yonkers, NY 10703, on Monday December 29, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers on Tuesday December 30, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, 50 Jackson Ave, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY 10706.
