

Amelia Mascolo, a lifelong Yonkers resident passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, November 13, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She was 91. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother (Nanny) and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty years Angelo Mascolo who died November 22, 1995. They were married on January 27, 1945 at St. Bartholomew's Church in Yonkers. Amelia was born on January 12, 1920 in Yonkers to Nicholas and Grace (Bova) DiFalco. She is predeceased by her brothers Donato (Sam) and James DiFalco, survived by her sisters Ruby Azzaro, Joan Perrotta and Marie Capalbo and her brothers Anthony and Joseph DiFalco. Mrs. Mascolo is also survived by her three children Louise (Gary) Cross of Port Jefferson, N.Y., Edward (Kim) Mascolo of Portchester, N.Y. and Maria (David) Roberts of Yonkers, N.Y. Also the beloved grandmother (Nanny) of fourteen Christina (Brian) Stephanie (Ricky) Jamie (Denis) Jason (Christine), David (Dana), Jennifer, Kristy, Daniel, Michaela and the great-grandmother of four, Kaitlyn, Kevin, Jenna, Adrianna. Mrs. Mascolo worked for the Barclay's Bank of Westchester in the automotive floor plan department for twenty five years, retiring in 1985. Her hobbies included knitting, cooking and baking for her family, card playing, and making small donations to Casino's in N.Y. and Pennsylvania. Nanny will mostly be remembered for the sparkle of pride in her eyes while watching her family grow. To Nanny, family was everything. Her kind and gentle ways touched all who knew her. We all will truly miss her. Visitation will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Avenue, Yonkers, N.Y. 10703 on Wednesday, November 16th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at St. Anthony's Church, Nepperhan Avenue, Yonkers, N.Y. at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Secor Road, Hartsdale, N.Y.
