
Anthony J. Peluso Jr. a long-time resident of Yonkers NY died on Monday May 23, 2016 following a brief illness. He was 84. Born on November 26,1931 to Anthony and Catherine ( McIntyre) Peluso. Tony retired from CIT in Manhattan in 1987 as a Senior Vice President. He then went on to pursue a career reflective of his life-long passion for marine art. He was an author, appraiser, guest curator, lecturer and marine art historian. He was an ongoing contributor to Maine Antique Digest and Antiques Magazine. He served as guest curator for the Mariners Museum exhibit of the paintings of J. & J. Bard at the National Gallery in Washington DC. He also published two books on the subject. Tony graduated from Manhattan Prep and Manhattan College. In March 1953 he married Marie A. Frey also a lifetime resident of Yonkers. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Catherine Peluso Mandell of N.Y.C., Christian Peluso of Hopkinton N.H., and Daniel Peluso of Yonkers. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Sarah, Rebecca, Nina, Sophia and Anthony. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday, May 24th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 27th at Christ the King Church at 10:00 a.m. Committal Service will be held at Ferncliff Chapel.
