Anthony P. Rosato, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, died peacefully on August 1, 2016, in Sarasota, FL. He was 87 years old. He was born on October 14, 1928 to the late Nicola and Anna DeAngelis Rosato. Husband of the late Eileen Totten Rosato, who were married November 18, 1950, at Holy Rosary Church. Father of Mark, Debbie, and Jay. Grandfather of Alyson, Julianne, and Mark, and great-grandfather of Emma Rose. Besides his wife of 62 years and his parents, he was predeceased by his baby son, Keith, his son-in-law John Casagrande, and brothers Frank, Dominick, John, Thomas, and Ralph. He is survived by brothers Joseph, Daniel, and Peter. After graduating from Commerce High School in 1945, he served in the Navy on the USS Providence from 1945 to 1947. He graduated Iona College with degrees in Biology and Theology in 1952, and worked as a hospital and critical care supplies specialist. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed being employed as a ranger after retirement on the Dunwoodie Golf Course for 9 years until the ripe old age of 86! Being of Italian descent and having a biology degree, one thing that gave him great pleasure was having named the Enrico Fermi Scholarship Fund for a lifelong friend. He was also one of the founding members of the Fargo Club in the Park Hill section of Yonkers. Private services were already held in both Sarasota and Yonkers. Interment was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers, New York.
