So sorry about your Mom. I remember her always smiling. Just the other day I found your brother on St. Joseph's Facebook page and asked him to tell you that I was asking for you. And while I was looking up a obit on a person I knew ,I found your Mom and I was heavy in the heart . I was looking at the pictures I saw you and you look the same as when we went to St. Joes. My deepest condolences.

I remember Mrs. Howley as a very sweet & caring person. I first met her when she worked at Christ the King School. I would always see her at the card parties at St. Bart’s. She would go out of her way to come & say hello to me. 
To her family, please accept my sincerest condolences & know Barbara was loved by many people & will be greatly missed.

Aunt Barbara - I have such wonderful memories of you - especially the last time Rick and I surprised you at your Surprise 90th birthday!. You were always so welcoming and loving and gave so much of yourself.  You will be greatly missed by all who you touched.  Following is a poem which was read at Rick's Mom's funeral this past summer:
When I die
Give what's left of me away
to children
and old men waiting to die.
And if you need to cry,
cry for your brother
walking the street beside you.
And when you need me, 
Put your arms
around anyone 
and give them
What you need to give to me.

I want to leave you something,
something better
than words
or sounds.

Look for me
in the people I've known
or loved,
and if you cannot give me away.
at least let me live in your eyes
and not in your mind.

You can love me most
by letting
hands touch hands
by letting bodies touch bodies,
and by letting go
of children
that need to be free.

Love doesn't die, 
People do. 
So, when all that's left of me
is love,
Give me away.

I certainly remember Aunt Barbara very well from when I was a kid visiting my grandmother and all the aunts and uncles on Vineyard.  I always liked Aunt Barbara.  She was forthright.  She had opinions about things. Plus a sharp sense of humor.
My two daughters, Jane and Grace, attended CTK grade school.  Aunt Barbara ran the office.  They knew her as "Mrs Howley" but I told them that we were related and so they knew that they had a friend in the principal's office. This helped them. Barbara was kind enough to call me quite a few times when things came up while the girls were in grade school.  I appreciated that, as did Jane and Grace.
Later on, we had the pleasure of Aunt Barbara's company at Sunday dinners with Mr. and Mrs. Capozzelli, my late husband Frank's parents.  We had a good time talking over Sunday dinner.  Aunt Barbara and the Caps  were from the same generation and had a lot in common to talk about. Old Yonkers stories and "do you remember..." and "did you know so and so..." It was nice.  We all very much enjoyed her company.  God bless!

Barbara, I will miss our drives to Rosary Altar meetings together, bouncing ideas off each other & hearing about your grandchildren & their babies growing and just how much you were so proud & loved them all.  You have touched so many lives and You will be missed by many in the St. Barts community, especially your Rosarian sisters.  Sending our deepest sympathies to your family.   Rest in Peace now Barb🙏🏼

My sincere condolences to Bobby and Joanie on the loss of their mother. She was a wonderful and loving lady. I have a lot of fond memories of her. May she Rest In Peace.
