

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert J. Howley Sr. in 1980. Barbara leaves behind her two children, Robert J. Howley, Jr. and his wife Marion (Mattioli) of Yonkers, NY, Daughter Joan Jackowiak and her husband Peter of St. Johns, FL formally Yorktown Heights, NY; her 4 grandchildren Robert J. Howley III (Stephanie), Kimberly Howley-Frabizzio (Thomas), Jennifer Richmond (Jackowiak) (Jason) and John Jackowiak (Meghan); 11 great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn (18), Robby (14), Jackson (13), Harrison (11), Joseph (9), Ella (7), Thomas (6), Reese (5), Ryan (5), Reagan (3), Kinsley (6 Weeks); many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and the rest of her family and friends.
Barbara was born in Yonkers, NY on July 1, 1928, to Beatrice O'Donnell (Van Tassell) and John (Jack) O'Donnell. She was the youngest of 4. She was preceded in death by her siblings, John O'Donnell, Mary Wenger (O'Donnell) and Thomas O'Donnell.
Barbara worked for Ciba-Geigy, Stauffer Chemical, Peoples Westchester Savings Bank, and Christ the King Elementary School in Yonkers, NY where she retired at the age of 80. She was a parishioner of St. Bartholomew's Church in Yonkers and a dedicated member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was an avid knitter, loved to quilt, sew, read, enjoyed her weekly trips to Empire City Casino and just loved being surrounded by her family and friends.
Barbara will be greatly missed. She genuinely loved everyone. If you are reading this and you knew Barbara, she loved you and you had a special place in her heart.
Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 3-7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Bartholomew’s Church on Monday November 15 at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
