

Bazyl Wasiczko of Yonkers died on Sunday March 13, 2011 at age 82 in Danbury, Ct. He was born April 8, 1928 to Peter and Fotynna (Perven) in Poland; he came to the United States in 1962. Mr. Wasiczko worked as an engineer for New York State for over 21 years retiring in 1991. In June of 1959 he married Rozalia Kowalczyk in Poland; she survives. Bazyl was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, and a member of various church organizations and a volunteer with the Ukrainian Yearly Festival. He moved to Danbury about 5 years ago to be close to his son John. Mr. Wasiczko is survived by his son John (Joanna) of Brookfield, Ct. and his 4 grandchildren Christina, Adrianna, Alexander and Jonathan, his sisters Ann Maggiacomo, Tekla Andrejczak, Maria Siegeola and his brother Mirek. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7-9pm and Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm, evening services at 7:30pm. Funeral Services will be held in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church on Thursday march 17th at 9:30am. Interment will follow in Holy Spirit Cemetery in Hamptonburg, NY. Donations may be made to St. Michael’s Building Fund.
