Celia Silva of Yonkers died on Sunday May 15, 2011 at age 88. She was born on April 10, 1923 to Lauro and Ernestina Silva in Brazil. Mrs. Silva worked as a Nurse's Aide at St. John's Hospital for over 20 years retiring in the 1970's. Celia was a member of Bethany Chapel in Yonkers. She is survived by her daughter Janete (Francisco) Oricchio and 2 granddaughters Janice (Joseph) Fernandez and Christine (Thomas) Fiskaa, and 3 great grandchildren Julia, Thomas and Jack. Visiting hours will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home (today) Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Evening Service will begin at 8pm. Prayer Service will be on Wednesday May 18th at 10am. Interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 2 Jefferson Plaza Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
