Claire M. Gebhardt

She was born on March 18, 1927 to Michael and Katherine Foster O’Toole in Yonkers where she was raised and educated, graduating from Sacred Heart High School. Mrs. Gebhardt was a meter maid for the City of White Plains for several years prior to her retirement. On June 8, 1947, she married the love of her life Robert “Bob” Gebhardt in Sacred Heart Church. After their retirement, Claire and her husband enjoyed volunteering at St. John’s Riverside Hospital. Mr. Gebhardt died on April 21, 2010. Mrs. Gebhardt is survived by a daughter, Donna Zemba and her husband Tom of New Rochelle and a son, Dennis Gebhardt and his wife Carol of Alpharetta, GA. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Michael and Melissa Zemba, Catherine Gallagher, Christy Colon and Christopher, Michael and Brian Gebhardt, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Rick Gebhardt. The family would like to acknowledge Dr. Thomas Fiorentino and his wonderful staff for their years of care and compassion for both of their parents. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday March 10th at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation of Hudson Valley, 832 South Broadway, Tarrytown, N.Y. 10591.
