A lifelong Yonkers resident, Eddie is survived by his loving family: wife, Kathy Cicalo Maher; son, Eddie Joe; sister, Margaret; and his brother, Frederick. Eddie is also survived by his devoted pets, his dog Blu and cats Sammi and Cooper; his nieces Anne and Amy; his nephew George; his three grandnephews Aidan, James, and Liam; numerous cousins; and many lifelong and new friends. Eddie is predeceased by his father, Frederick; mother, Marie; his sister, Janet; and his nephew John (JJ).
Eddie was a long-time employee of the Yonkers Board of Education, rising to the position of Maintenance Supervisor. After retirement, Eddie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening and hunting, and watching his beloved New York Yankees. He especially enjoyed taking long walks with his dogs alongside his wife, Kathy, and son, Eddie.
A devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, Eddie will be remembered for his loyalty, generosity, and sense of humor. Eddie could fix anything that was broken and make it look easy. He was especially proud of his garden and was always eager to share his tomatoes with friends and family, along with plenty of advice on how to grow the biggest ones each season. Eddie’s greatest joy in life was his son, Eddie Joe. They truly were two peas in a pod. Eddie’s love for his family, his animals, and his friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
