
Born on February 1, 1927, in Yonkers, New York, Eleanor was the cherished daughter of Timothy A. and Eleanor J. Moynihan. She spent her formative years in Yonkers, attending local schools and graduating from Gorton High School.
Eleanor was a hard-working and thoughtful person who dedicated over 40 years of her life as a legal secretary at the Wekstein & Friedman Law Firm in Yonkers, retiring in 1999. Her career was marked by her faithfulness and professionalism, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. She was a longtime parishioner of the Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart in Yonkers where she participated in many activities. Her thoughtful and kind-hearted nature touched many lives, leaving a legacy of love in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be remembered for her strong faith, her dedication to her work, and her unwavering kindness.
“Sally” was predeceased by her parents and her brother Timothy W. Moynihan. She is survived by her cousins, Reverend Monsignor Robert M. Kinnally, and Sheila Kinnally Chu of Dobbs Ferry; and goddaughter, Missy Houlihan. Like many others, they remember “Aunt Sally” as a devoted and loving family member. The family is grateful to Sally’s devoted friends Dee and Emanuel and the staff at Cabrini of Westchester for their love and care.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart, 110 Shonnard Pl., Yonkers, NY on Thursday December 18th at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Yonkers, NY.
