Born on February 18, 1944 to Francis X. and Kathryn (Flanagan) Madden in Yonkers where he was raised and graduated from Gorton High School. Frank received his Associates degree from Westchester Community College. In 1965, Frank was drafted into the United States Army. He trained at Fort Dixx and Fort Hood before being sent to Vietnam where he spent a year serving as a medic. When he returned, he worked for the United States Postal Service. He delivered mail in the village of Hastings on Hudson for the next thirty years before retiring in 1999. Frank was predeceased by his sister, Janet (Madden) Kushnir in 2008. He is survived by his brother in law, Robert M. Kushnir of Yonkers, as well as his nephews Michael (Janette) Kushnir and Kevin Kushnir, of Yonkers, and his niece Kelly (Peter) Vulpone of Hastings on Hudson, NY. He is also survived by his great nieces and nephew whom he always enjoyed spending time with: Emily, Elizabeth, Kylie, Ryan, and Katie. “Uncle Frank” as he was known to his family, was the epitome of a great uncle. Although quiet, he was kind, loving and generous. He never missed an opportunity to support his nieces and nephews in all of their endeavors, especially school functions and sporting events. He loved the NY Yankees (especially Mickey Mantle!) and anything chocolate. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday 3-7pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday February 10th at 10am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
