Fred D. Wolfe, a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Thursday May 28, 2015 at Calvary Hospital. He was 89 years old. He was born on September 18, 1925 to Frederick and Ethel Fowler Wolfe in Lowell, Ma. He was raised and educated in Yonkers. Mr. Wolfe was a trucker for Feuer Trucking in Yonkers for many years until his retirement. He was a member of Teamsters Local #445. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He achieved the rank of Seaman First Class and received the American Theatre Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Medal and the Victory Medal. On May 27, 1967, he married his loving wife, Flor Ramirez in Yonkers. Mrs. Wolfe survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a niece, Mary Joy Hughes and her husband, Larry of Yonkers. He was predeceased by a son, Fred Wolfe Jr. and two brothers and three sisters. A cryptside prayer service will be held on Monday June 1st at 1:15pm at Ferncliff Cemetery (Rosewood Mausoleum).
