George N. McEachern, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Wednesday March 13, 2013 at his residence. He was 72 years old. He was born on January 23, 1941 to Melvin and Irma DeFelice McEachern in Yonkers where he was raised and educated. Mr. McEachern was self employed in the trucking industry in New York City for many years until his retirement. He was a sports enthusiast and was particularly an avid fan of the New York Yankees. He is survived by one son, Lawrence W. Florich and his wife Regina and two sisters, Ada DiSanto and her husband Len and Laurel Hicks. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Stephanie, Danielle and Brandon and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Bobby and Billy McEachern. Visitation will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday 5-9 pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday March 16th at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
