

Gerald “Jake” Costabile of Yonkers died on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at age 67. Born on April 22, 1944 to Anthony and Genevieve (Sawicki) in Yonkers where he was raised and graduated from Commerce High School and Westchester Community College. Mr. Costabile was the owner of Jerry’s Tree Service and Quality Landscaping in Yonkers for over thirty years. In 1973 he married Diana Morehouse (Bloomers Florist) in St. Anthony’s Church, she survives living in Yonkers. He was a Navy Veteran. He was a Parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, a member of the North Yonkers Boys and Girls Club, where he served as President and was also selected “Man of the Year”. He also was a member of the Boys from the First Hole at Dunwoodie; the Amakassin Club and was an avid Met fan; loved his golf, tennis and fishing especially at Montauk. Besides his wife Diana, he is survived by his daughter Audrey Costabile, his step-son James Hayden, his wife Tina and his daughter Diana. Jake is also survived by his Brother, Michael Costabile and two sisters, Judy Hartley and Janice Maron, and three nieces and three nephews, he was predeceased by his sister Joyce Costabile. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, July 30th at 9:15 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery.
