Helen T. Tobin, a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Saturday February 14, 2015 at Cabrini of Westchester Nursing Home. She was 87 years old. She was born on March 27, 1927 to Patrick and Bridget (Delia) O’Hara Tobin in Yonkers where she was raised and educated. Miss Tobin was a receptionist clerk at St. John’s Riverside Hospital for twenty years until her retirement in 1995. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church and enjoyed knitting and traveling with cousins and other family members. Miss Tobin is survived by two nephews, William O’Connell of Dobbs Ferry and John P. O’Connell of Yonkers and a niece, MaryAnn McElroen of Queens, N.Y. She was predeceased by a brother, John P. O’Connell and a sister, Olive O’Connell. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church on Thursday February 19th at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
