Born on July 17, 1950, in Trinidad, West Indies, Jennifer was the daughter of Lionel Sheppard and Doris Manwaring. She was raised and educated in Trinidad, and in the 1980’s she came to the United States, bringing with her a steady determination and an open, inquisitive spirit that remained a hallmark of her life.
Those who knew Jennifer remember a woman who gave of herself with quiet consistency—compassionate in her care for others, generous in the ways she showed up, and thoughtful in the details that made people feel seen. Her hard work was evident not only in what she did, but in how faithfully she did it, and her kind-hearted nature was often accompanied by a warm sense of humor that could lighten even ordinary moments. Beloved by her family and cherished by many, Jennifer’s selfless presence leaves a lasting imprint.
Jennifer is survived by two sons, Curtis and Derek Hosein, one daughter, Cindy Hosein, and two grandchildren, Samaya and Max Hosein. She was predeceased by a grandson Jachin Hosein. She is also survived by a brother, Everard Manwaring, and several nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by two brothers, Peter and Robert Manwaring and a sister, Judith Cumberbatch.
