John J. Hresko of Yonkers died on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2016 at age 86. Born on February 18, 1930 to John and Mary (Panko) Hresko in Yonkers where he was raised and attended local schools. Mr. Hresko was a City of Yonkers policeman; serving Getty Square for over thirty-five years; retiring in 1995. He was an Army veteran; serving in Korea from 1951 to 1953. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (McFarland) who died in 1982. Mr. Hresko is survived by his five children, Michael Hresko, William, John and James Hurlman and Marie Culp. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren and his brother James Hresko.
Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Sept. 21st at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
