Jose Pereira of Yonkers passed away on Tuesday March 21, 2017 at age 90. He was born on September 17, 1926 in Portugal to Adelino and Ana Pereira where he was raised and educated. Jose married Palmira Silva in Portugal, she survives. He worked in the laundry service at St. John’s Hospital for many years. Jose is survived by his loving wife Palmira, a son Antonio, a daughter Virginia Inacio and a sister Lourdes Fernandes, also 6 grandchildren; Maria Custodio, Nelson Inacio, David Pereira, Kelly Herrmann, Michael Inacio and Jenny Mezo, also 10 great grandchildren; Adriana Custodio, Austin Custodio, Vincent Inacio, Loyal Inacio, Zachary Inacio, John Herrmann, Jr., Abigail Mezo, Michael Mezo, Jr., Olivia Pereira and Gabriella Herrmann. He was predeceased by Albano Pereira, Manuel Pereira, Armando Pereira and Antonio Pereira. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday at 10am in Christ the King Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
