Jow Ping Yee

He was known as “Joe Ping” to his friends and loved ones. Joe was predeceased by his parents, George & Nuey Yee. Joe lived his whole life in Yonkers, NY. He worked for the Department of Sanitation for the City of Yonkers, where he retired after 20 years. He is survived by his beloved wife Rose Lamorte. They have been together for the last 34 years, 25 of those wonderful years they spent happily married. He leaves behind his twin brother, Jow Ming & wife Yan Fen; loving sisters, Peggy Chin, husband Roger, Margie husband Donald, Yun Sheung Lee, and numerous nieces and nephews; in-laws Marie (George), Anna, Andy, Anthony, Danny (Ana), Joe & Leo; beloved nieces Ashley, who is his goddaughter, and Rashieda; his nephew William; his great-niece Maya and his great-nephews Kyle, Tyler, Elijah, Jeremiah & Isaiah.

Joe enjoyed traveling the world with his adored wife Rose through the years. He also loved to frequent the casinos. He was especially close with his goddaughter Ashley and had a great love for her and her family.

Joe was a very caring, honest, and generous person who always had a smile on his face. He will be deeply missed by all that had the wonderful opportunity to know him. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday 4-8pm. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on

Friday May 6th at 10am. Entombment will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
