Linda's Journey
Heaven gained an Angel on Friday, February 16th 2018 at 10:55 p.m. Linda was called home to relax from her earthly duties to her heavenly rewards. Linda was born April 20th; 1946, she was the daughter of the late Haywood Gill Sr. and late Hazel L. Diaz Harris-Gill. Linda had one sister and five brothers. She was united in holy matrimony to Calvin Parker Sr., and from that union Calvin Parker Jr and Stanley A. Parker (Deceased) were born; they were married for 5 years. Later in life Linda married Alfonso Bryan (Deceased) and Melissa Bryan Walker-Briggs was birth from that union. Linda was very blunt and straight to the point; she took no Mess from no one she was loving, very independent and truly was one of a kind.
Linda was raised in Yonkers and educated in the Yonkers Public School she was employed with many jobs, a Cook, Food Service Manager but her love and passion was for children, she enjoyed many years of child care employment. Linda received several certificates of recognition and appreciation for her outstanding work. She told pride and excellence in everything she did. Linda was a military wife and got to travel the world she saw many places like Germany, Virginia, Louisiana and Texas just to name a few and no matter wherever Linda traveled or lived she were loved by many. Linda was named Terminator X by her children Calvin and Melissa because she took no mess. She loved all her family, but her children and especially her grandchildren were her heartbeat. If you knew her which everyone did, then you knew she wouldn’t want us to cry for her right now; she wants us to laugh and party hard.
The Joy of her life will always remain in the hearts of her loving children Calvin O. Parker Jr., Melissa Bryan Walker Briggs, eight grandchildren Kelvin Parker, Bobbie Walker and Diamond Briggs, Datrese Dupree, Shirkria Parker, Rashawn Parker, Shanique Parker and Jamari Parker six great grandchildren, one sister Barbara Harris (Priest) NC, three brothers Hayward “Stevie” Gill Jr., Harlem, NY , Robert Harris Sr., Arthur “Billy” Harris, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces other relatives and dear friends. Linda was predeceased by one son Stanley A. Parker, two brothers Richard Harris and Lawrence Gill.
She will never be forgotten her legacy will live on forever through her family.
