Margaret Farrington

Margaret “Peggy” Farrington (nee Walsh), a lifelong Yonkers resident, died on Thursday March 22, 2012 at St. John’s Riverside Hospital. She was 88 years old. She was born on February 3, 1924 to Nicholas and Mary Sullivan Walsh in Yonkers where she was raised and educated, graduating from Commerce High School. Mrs. Farrington was an executive secretary for Stauffer Chemical Company in Dobbs Ferry for several years until her retirement in 1983. On July 26, 1952, she married her loving husband, John F. Farrington in Sacred Heart Church. They would have celebrated sixty years of marriage this year. Mr. Farrington survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a sister, Helen Frey and twenty eight nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Frank, Jack and Monty Walsh and one sister, Mary “Dolly” Frey. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Monday March 26th at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
