Marion Travers

Born on December 23, 1922 to Frank (County Donegal) and Mary Mangan) (County Claire) Travers in Yonkers, N.Y., where she was raised and graduated from Sacred Heart Grade School and Commerce High School. She was employed by Bank of Westchester in Yonkers; U.S. Industrial Chemicals; American Can Co.; Veterans Administration in Juneau, Alaska; Burhan Boiler in Irvington N.Y.; Fraitag Plumbing and Sheehan Insurance both in Yonkers. She enjoyed photography, sewing, music and loved to travel. She was a Parishioner of Sacred Heart Church for over sixty years and a member of the Third Order of St. Francis; she also served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister and Choir member. Marion is survived by several nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews and three sisters-in-laws Betty Travers, Molly Travers and Mary Travers. She was predeceased by three sisters Rita Thomas, Lorraine Keays and Irene Dolan and her four brothers Joseph, Frank, James and Donald, and three nephews Joseph Thomas, James and Martin Keays. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held in Sacred heart Church on Saturday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
