

Mary Ellen was born in Fairmont, West Virginia to Thomas Arthur Sydnor and Lillian Y. Jackson on December 23, 1939. She attended schools in her hometown Norwalk, Connecticut. Mary Ellen married Dennis Fields, Sr, on February 7, 1959 in Yonkers, New York. She worked as a Home Health Aide for Quality Care Services for many years and was the Senior Leader for Group 9 (Terrace City Lodge) as well as other locations for Yonkers Parks and Recreation. Mary Ellen was an avid bowler and was involved in many bowling leagues and travelled to many bowling tournaments throughout her lifetime.
Mary Ellen is survived by her husband Dennis who currently resides in Yonkers, Seven children, Katherine Fields (Delaware), Lillian Fields (Delaware), Dennis Fields Jr., (Lynda) (Connecticut), Lloyd Fields (NYC), Keith Fields (Mount Vernon, NY), Darin Fields (Yonkers, NY) and Robert Fields (Yonkers, NY). Two brothers Norvell Sydnor (Williander) (North Carolina), Lloyd Sydnor (Las Vegas, Nevada), three sisters Stephanie Smith, Marva Petrus, and Claudette (Mitch) Daniels-Austin all of Norwalk, Connecticut. Ten grandchildren, Tashara, Nicktoria, Dennis III, Tequilla, Kiya, Darin Jr., Sasha, Zhane, Robert Jr., Dante and eleven great grandchildren, Jayceon, Ethan, Tyler, Mylah, Darius, Darien, Daison, David, Terrane, Trent and Devin. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends whom she dearly loved.
Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Sr., and Lillian, and her brothers Thomas Sydnor, and Jackson Sydnor. She is also predeceased by her in-law parents Anderson and Victoria Fields,
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 10:00 am and will end with prayer at 12:00 pm at (Whalen & Ball Funeral Home, 168 Park Avenue, Yonkers, New York) with crematory services at Ferncliff Cemetery. Arrangements are by Whalen & Ball Funeral Home.
