Regina E. (Galle) Montone

Regina was born in Yonkers, New York to Francis J. Galle, Sr. and Mary (Doyle) Galle. She attended Sacred Heart Grade and High Schools, and graduated from the Licensed Practical Nursing school of the Yonkers Manpower program. Regina worked for many years at Yonkers General Hospital, and later at St. John’s Riverside Hospital, where she was supervisor of the Central Supply Department.

She spent many happy years with her husband Stephen Montone (retired YFD). They enjoyed traveling on their yearly couples’ cruise to Bermuda, and spending time in their home in the Hamptons, where they went for walks on the beach, rides on Steve’s boat, cooked together, jarred homemade tomato sauce, and entertained family and friends.

Regina loved to make you laugh, and was well known for her quick wit and sense of humor. Her “special” version of the Happy Birthday song will be fondly remembered by her family. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones, but leaves many happy memories for them to reflect upon.

Regina is survived by her devoted children, Denise (Seth Rambalski) Villara, Joseph (Margarita) Villara, her loving grandchildren, Anthony, Nicolas, and Mariella Villara, her brother Francis (Harriet) Galle, and her sister Patricia (Keith) Mohammed. She is also survived by 3 nieces, Nanette (Connell) O’Brien, Valerie (Charles) Telfair, June (Scott) Jeckel, and 2 nephews, Frank (Elizabeth) Galle, Kevin Mohammed, and her fur babies Gracie and Bella. Regina also has several great nephews, a great niece, and a great-grandniece. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, brother Denis Galle, and half-sister Maryann Nagle.

Visitation hours are Saturday and Sunday, January 20 and 21, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will occur on Monday, January 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart of Yonkers, or to St. Clare’s Friary for the care of retired Capuchin Friars, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, New York.
