Sr. Margaret Holden, F.S.P.

Sr. Margaret Holden, F.S.P. died on Wednesday July 25, 2012 at age 73. She was born to Thomas and Florence (Henaghan) Holden on December 30, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY. She entered the Franciscan Sisters on September 8, 1961 and received final vows on August 10, 1968. Sister Margaret received her education from Ladycliff College in Highland Falls, NY, receiving her B.A. in Social Studies; she also had certification in Practical Nursing and Special Education. Her ministries include; St. Joseph’s West NY, Sacred Heart Highland Falls, St. John’s Fairview, St. Leo’s Patterson, Teaching Special Ed. Brooklyn, Kennedy Child Study Center NY, Incarnation Center for Children, Xavier Retreat Center N.J., St. Dominic’s Home, St. Benedict’s Ret. Ctr. Madison WI. In 2006 she was the Pastoral Care Minister/Health Care Team. Sister is survived by 2 sisters Mary E. Martin of California and Florence Martorana of New Jersey and 2 nieces and 4 nephews. Visiting hours will be on Monday July 30th from 4- 9pm at Marion Woods Convent, 152 Ridge Road, Hartsdale NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Convent on Tuesday at 10am. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
