Theadora Fedorchick, longtime resident of Yonkers, passed away peacefully at home on Mothers Day, May 14, 2023, at age 95. Born on February 12, 1928 to Peter and Helen Kopcha in Brooklyn, NY. On August 31, 1952, she married her husband Bill (he predeceased her in 2001) in St. George Ukrainian Catholic Church in New York City, and then moved to Yonkers where she remained for over 70 years.
She leaves behind her son Bill, his wife Liana, of Larchmont; her daughter Joan Marvin of Yonkers; and three grandchildren, Sarah Anne Fedorchick, Dana Marie and Bradley Marvin.
Those who knew her, would call her Dory, not Theadora. To her nieces and nephews, she was “Aunt Dory,” and “Cousin Dory” to all her cousins. She loved them all dearly and loved to keep up with what everyone was doing.
During the 1990s and 2000s, Dory loved her monthly bus trips to Atlantic City with the Golden Agers Church group. She did the daily crossword puzzle, loved watching golf on Sunday, and her ritualistic viewing of Jeopardy each and every night, which only stopped two weeks ago. We will miss her every day and think of her always. She will always be in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name may be made to Doctors without Borders, The Seva Foundation, Tunnels to Towers Fund, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or a charity of your choosing.
A visitation for Theadora will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A mass of christian burial will occur Friday, May 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Christ the King Church, Yonkers, NY. An interment will occur Friday, May 19, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers, NY.
