Veronica Hill

HILL, Veronica (aka: Ronnie) passed away on July 8, 2017 at the age of 83 years old, only three days shy of her 84th birthday. Veronica joins her beloved Frederick who predeceased her in 2008, as well as her two sisters, Margaret Frey (Jack) and Eileen Whistan (James). She is survived by her adoring children Frederick Hill III (Patricia), Kim Hill, Maura Friend (Chris), and Tara Hill (Kevin). She also leaves behind her devoted grandchildren Casey, Christopher, Madelyn, Katie, and Freddy IV. Veronica was born in Brooklyn , NY in 1933 to parents Martin and Delia Dwyer( nee: Carter). At the age of 23 she moved to Yonkers, NY where she remained a resident for over 60 years, becoming an active and respected member of the community. Professionally, she considered herself a Mother and Grandmother, despite working in an administrative capacity for the Christian Brothers in New York City, for the Yonkers YMCA and as a chef for Andrus Children’s Home of Yonkers. Veronica remained involved, becoming the Entertainment Director for the Clinton House in Hurleyville, NY. Also, she was an active parishioner Christ the King Parish in Yonkers, NY as well as a member of the Holy Rosary Society in the parish. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 11 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Christ the King RCC on Wednesday, July 12th at 11am. Cremation will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
