

He was born in Bronx, NY on May 29, 1949. Being raised in Pelham, NY, graduating in 1967, and continued his education at Fordham University, graduating with a B. A. in Economics in 1972. Banking was his lifelong career and he really enjoyed what he did and was darn good at it. In 1978, he met Janet and they were later married on October 14, 1987. This would have been their 34th Anniversary. In 1994, they were blessed with a daughter, Kelly Marie.
While attending schools in Pelham, Vin became an avid athlete, with baseball becoming his favorite sport. This love of baseball endured throughout his lifetime. When he had to quit playing the game, he continued to enjoy the sport in every way possible. He also enjoyed the arts, playing the trumpet in the marching band, as well. Vincent also enjoyed gardening and was well known for his crops of tomatoes and fresh vegetables in the neighborhood. He was also a master in the kitchen, preparing many meals for friends and family that he loved to be with. He was an avid reader, often reading three books a month, along with many science magazines. He enjoyed spending summers on Cape Cod with his family and exploring new places.
Vincent is predeceased in death by his parents, Vivian (Casucci) and Jerry Russo. He is survived by his wife, Janet Naomi (Smith), his daughter Kelly, an older brother, Andre (Jeanne), and twin sister, Augie. His nephew, Christopher (Joan), sisters Sara Iverson (Eric), Melissa, and Mary, as well as grand nephews and niece, Philip, Fisher, Tristan, and Vivian.
Vincent loved life, has a warm, generous heart with a contagious smile and howling laughter. He would find a way to reach out to everyone around him and make them smile and feel good. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday 4-8pm. Funeral service will take place in the funeral home on Saturday October 2nd at 10am. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Anyone wishing to honor Vincent’s life can donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. He believed in this cause to give young people a chance to live a full healthy life.
