William F. Bartunek

William (Bill) F. Bartunek passed away peacefully on June 5, 2022 due to ongoing medical complications and was surrounded by his wife and daughter. Incredible husband, dedicated father, and cherished friend. Born in 1949 in Yonkers, he graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1967 and lived in Yonkers until moving to Mahopac in 1995. Before retiring in 2018, Bill worked as a Biomedical Laser Engineer for Boston Scientific as well as other companies including Lumenis, GE, and ESC Sharplan. Both his work and passion for adventure made him a world traveler, crossing all states and many countries off his travel list. Always handy and creative, he also handmade many items including small pieces of repurposed furniture and beautiful wooden lamps. His favorite pastime was spending time and exploring with his wife Donna of 43 years, and visiting with his daughter, Rachel, and son-in-law, Jeremy Ackerman, in upstate NY. He so proudly walked his daughter down the aisle and witnessed her marriage in September 2021. Lazy lake days fishing on his boat and driving his convertible were among some of the best days. Supported and loved by so many friends, he and his family will forever be grateful for their kindness. Bill is preceded in death by his father, William, and his mother, Anne. He is survived by his wife, Donna, daughter Rachel (Jeremy Ackerman), in-laws Joseph & Rachel Carmona, family, and many friends.

A mass o f christian burial for William will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM at Sacred Heart RC Church, 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY 10703. Following the mass o f christian burial will be an entombment from 10:45 AM to 11:15 AM at Ferncliff Cemetery, 280 Secor Road, Hartsdale, NY 10530.
