Elizabeth (Betty) Virginia Peters

Elizabeth V. (Betty) Reilly Peters passed away in Placentia, CA on July 17, 2020.  She was 96 years old.  Betty was born on April 8, 1924 in Chicago. She was the youngest of ten children born to Joseph and Catherine Reilly.  Whenever, she and her siblings were gathered together, they would share many pots of tea….an Irish tradition.  She worked for 40 years at the First National Bank of Chicago (Chase Bank).  She worked her way up from a teller to one of the first women to be a business loan officer.  While working for the bank, she met and married the late Leonard “Pete” Peters.  Upon retiring, Betty and Pete moved to Sun City, CA where they enjoyed many years with family and friends there. Betty also enjoyed putting her Irish Luck to work on visits to local Casinos with groups of Sun City seniors.  Betty was a life-long Cubs fan. She attended many games when she lived in Chicago and was delighted when the team won the World Series in 2016.  Betty is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.  She was known in the family for her twinkling eyes, easy laugh and the best hugs ever.

Her final resting place will be next to her dear husband Pete at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, IL.
