

Fred is predeceased by his stepdaughter, Debbie Rolon. He is survived by his wife Wanda Yurcic; stepsons, Doug and Scott Liles; daughter-in-law, CC Liles; son-in-law, Carlos Rolon; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild, Ivy Lynn.
Fred grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, and served in the United States Navy after high school. While in the Navy, Fred served aboard the U.S.S. Adroit. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for thirty-five years as a metrology and aeronautical engineer for Rockwell and Boeing where he participated in projects that included the Space Shuttle and International Space Station programs.
Fred married Wanda Liles on December 29, 1978, and the two remained happily married for 44 years. He proved to be a loving and supportive husband and father to two stepsons and a stepdaughter.
He had an enthusiasm for life and a curiosity that was limitless. He loved classic cars, metal detecting, coin collecting, and treasure hunting. He also admired the beauty of the outdoors and even successfully climbed the highest mountain in California, Mount Whitney.
He was a generous spirit who found pleasure in helping others whenever they needed a handyman or mechanic. He was loved by all who knew him.
Services will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023, at McAulay & Wallace Mortuary, 18311 Lemon Drive, Yorba Linda, CA; Public viewing 11:30 am; Funeral service 12:00 pm; Reception to follow at Polly’s Pies, 18132 Imperial Hwy., Yorba Linda, CA; Private interment at Riverside National Cemetery, date TBD.
