

Dallastown - James E. "Jim" Fay, 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 13th at York Hospital. Jim was a successful sales professional in chemical and electrical distribution for 42 years, working in Cleveland, OH, Peoria, IL, Binghampton, NY and York. He retired in 2009 and continued to work part-time. He was known as a loyal and honest sales professional. Jim started a work release program with the Peoria Association for persons with special needs, and he enjoyed coaching and scorekeeping sporting events for his children for many years.
As a young man, Jim enjoyed many sports, especially baseball. He was named All-State at 1st base in 1961 and played in the Ohio East West All Star series in Columbus, OH. He had several college scholarship offers and interest from several Major League Teams. Jim played independent Semi-Pro ball for several years and was named to four all-star teams. He also played independent and Semi-Pro ball for several years and was named to four All-Star teams. He also played eight years in the York and Red Lion old timers baseball leagues. Jim also enjoyed bowling and was recognized nationally for his youth bowlers tour program. In 2017, Jim became a member of South High School Hall of Fame.
Most of all, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and loved watching as they participated in many sports and activities over the years. He also enjoyed the time he spent with his grandchildren.
Jim was happily married to his wife, Suzanne L. Fay for 29 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Paul Fay, Diana Fay, Karen Dugan and Lee Fay and his wife, Cora. He is also survived by three step-children, Daniel Montrella, Dana Montrella and his wife, Ashley and Angela Montrella, as well as 11 grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate Jim's life will be held Monday, June 18th at 12 noon at Mason Dixon Baptist Church; 713 Campbell Rd.; New Freedom. A time to share memories and an opportunity to view will also be on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York.
