It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alfredo "Freddy" Luque, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on April 17, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on October 1, 1953, in Glendale, Arizona, Alfredo was a simple man with humble beginnings, whose life was marked by love, dedication, and kindness.
Alfredo was the cherished son of Felipe and Angelita Luque, who instilled in him the strong values that would guide him throughout his life. Growing up in Glendale, Alfredo was surrounded by a loving family, including his brothers Michael, Steven, Luis, and Phillip, all of whom predeceased him, along with his grandparents, Saturnino amd Maria Perez, and Jesus and Francisca Luque. His great-granddaughter, Xochi Lopez, also welcomed him into the next life with open arms.
In 1981, Alfredo married Martha, and together they embarked on a journey of love and family. Though their paths later diverged, they remained connected through their children, Jacob (Mellissa) and Jennifer (Zachary) who were the pride and joy of Alfredo's life. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren, Korina, Sarah, Alessandra, Leah, and Alexander and great-grandson Elias. Alfredo's career was defined by a steadfast commitment to excellence. He dedicated over 30 years of service to Honeywell Aerospace as a Heat Treat Specialist. His contributions to the manufacturing success of turbine engine parts were a source great pride for him, reflecting his strong work ethic and dedication.
Outside of work, Alfredo found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an enthusiast of annual fishing derbies hosted by Honeywell and relished deer hunting trips, where he often played the role of cook at the campsite, sharing stories and laughter with those he loved. His camping trips with his family were filled with warmth and camaraderie, as he delighted in spinning tales by the campfire.
Alfredo's heart was as vast as the Arizona sky he called home. He was a beacon of kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends in times of need. This warmth and generosity extended to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his children, Jacob and Jennifer, his former spouse, Martha and her husband Fredo; his devoted sisters, Catalina (Oscar), Valerie (Paul) ; and a large extended family, including Esperanza Torres, Yolanda Ochoa, Lorenzo Perez, Rosie Leach, along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
As we remember Alfredo's life, the family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated employees at Davita Sweetwater Dialysis Center, whose kindness and care provided comfort during his years of dialysis.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, in honor of Alfredo's enduring spirit and the courage with which he faced his battle with kidney disease.
Though he has departed from this world, Alfredo's spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of warmth, devotion, and kindness will continue to inspire us all.
