Karen Janelle Hardy, 88 of Peoria, Arizona, became one with the ancestors on Monday, April 21, 2025. Karen was born on December 13, 1936 in West Fork Township, Iowa to Samuel Franklin Haitz and Ardis Geraldine (Worley) Haitz. Karen was the 5th of 6 children. She attended school in Sioux City, Iowa. She married her childhood sweetheart, Carlton Avery (Bud) Hardy after high school. Together they had 3 children, Kyle, Todd and Craig. She continued her education after having 3 children and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Middle Tennessee State University. She taught English and Spanish for several years at Lincoln County Central High School in Fayetteville, Tennessee. Karen and Bud lived in several different cities and states before settling in Conway, Arkansas. Karen worked in several different positions during this time. When her husband passed, she moved to Springdale, Arkansas and lived there several years before moving to Arizona to be near her sisters. Karen loved her 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her son Kyle.
