Message from the Family:
Aunt Ruby, the last child of our beloved great-grandmother, you were a living connection to our family's history and heritage. As the last sibling to pass, you marked the end of an era, but your legacy lives on through the countless memories, stories, and lessons you shared with us. To me, you were more than just an aunt - you were a bridge to the past, a source of love, and a reminder of my grandmother's love and spirit. Your sharp wit and playful comments, like your infamous remark about Tori not being 'that skinny' at Thanksgiving, will forever be etched in our memories. We'll cherish the time we had with you and hold close the memories of your love, laughter, and legacy. Rest now, dear Aunt Ruby, surrounded by the love of family and the memories of a life well-lived.
Dear Aunt Ruby,
You will be missed. You were our last connecting line to our Louisiana ancestry. For a good portion of my life, you would call me Kimalee until you just settled on Kim. I remember you having a salon in the back of your home in Los Angeles. I remember you loving the watching and shopping from HSN and receiving love and gifts from you. I remember when Shy-d shared her margaritas in a can with you right before you had to do physical therapy 👀😅🤣😂. I told my mom that we will need to celebrate your homegoing with your famous weiner on a stick with animal crackers. You will be loved and missed dearly, Aunt Ruby. We know you are in a better place surrounded by family and loved ones who are waiting to embrace you in heaven.
Love you always,
Kimberly, aka Kimalee
