
William was born in Sioux Center, IA in 1946 to Lawrence & Rena Bleeker, and was the youngest of four children. He was educated at Sioux Center High School before entering the Army in 1967. He was honorably discharged in 1969. He then started his career as a heavy equipment operator.
William was a devoted and loving father to Troy Bleeker, Stacey Bleeker, & Kyle Bleeker, who dearly miss him and the life lessons he imparted to them. Among them was " You have to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything."
He took great pride in being a parent, quality time was crucial to him. He enjoyed the basics of sharing a meal and just talking. He was not fancy but enjoyed the simple things in life. William also enjoyed sports, & spending time with his grandchildren. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed serving as the mail courier at the retirement home Glencroft that he spent almost 10 years at. He won a volunteer award in 2019 for his Outstanding Commitment to Serving. He took great pride in all his work, and he taught his children to do the same.
He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren that he loved dearly. (Ciera Bleeker, Gabriel Minter, Aurora & Autumn Bleeker, and Kaden Bleeker).
William was preceded in death by his only brother Tony Bleeker, his mother Rena Bleeker, and his father Lawrence Bleeker. He is survived by his two sisters Cornelia Lubbers (Sioux City, IA) and Ruth DeBoer (Brookings, SD).
His celebration of life memorial service will be held on March 8, 2025, at Radiant Church located at 15522 W. Paradise Lane Surprise AZ 85374 at 10 am. The Army Honors Service is Friday, March 7, 2025, @ 9 am at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Arizona located at 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Rd. Phoenix AZ 85024.
