

Edward Winston Sterner, age 84, a resident of San Bernardino, California for 76 years, passed away on July 8, 2011. He was born September 17, 1926, in Cheyene, Wyoming. Edward served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during World War II. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for 10 years, Tulare County DPSS for 3 years, Riverside County DPSS for 23 years and was a Southern Baptist Minister for 40 years. Edward graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1944 and attended SBVC. He graduated from California Baptist College (now University) in 1960 and received his Masters of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in 1963. He was a member of Northpark Southern Baptist Church, San Bernardino, California. Edward was preceded in death by his wife, Nella Sterner. He is survived by two sons, Ronald W. Sterner of Rialto and Michael P. Sterner of Yucaipa and a brother, Bernard D. Sterner of Illinois. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services Thursday, July 14, 2011, at 10:30 AM, at Weaver-Hughes Mortuary, 33629 Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa, California. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM, at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, California. Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver-Hughes Mortuary, Yucaipa, California.
