

Adria Felix Sims 77, passed away peacefully at her Yuma home with her loved ones by her side on July 2, 2016. Adria was born in Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico on April 11, 1939 and was one of 10 children born to Gabriel and Guadalupe Felix. She was raised in Mexico and attended school there before moving to the United States.
Adria married Thomas Sims in 1961 and they lived in Long Beach, CA prior to moving to Yuma, AZ. She is survived by her husband, Tom; her sister Coqui Hernandez Felix; her children, Anna Sims, Bill Sims (Whitney), and Robert Sims (Serene); as well as her granddaughters Jessica Thomas, Erika Salvatierra, Rashel Herrera, Jacey Sims, and Hailee Sims. Adria was also blessed by many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her infant son, Tommy, her parents and 8 siblings.
Adria was self-employed for nearly 40 years as a Spanish Court Interpreter. Holding credentials from both the United States and California courts, she provided faithful service to the Yuma courts and legal community. Adria took great pride in her profession and was always ready for a good debate on terminology over a cup of coffee. She had a great sense of humor and was never too busy for a visit or call from a friend.
Adria was a kind and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. The people she loved meant everything to her and she was devoted to their care. A memorial service and mass will be held on Saturday, 7/9/2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Johnson Mortuary Chapel.
