

Alexander Marquez Alonso, age 49, passed away November 20, 2024 in Somerton, Arizona. He was born to Juan Antonio Marquez Rivera and Raquel Marquez de Alonso in Yuma, Arizona on April 29, 1975. He spent most of his youth growing up in Somerton, Arizona. He was blessed with good friends and close family members who loved him very much and whom he made smile and laugh often.
He is survived by his father Juan Antonio Marquez Rivera and his mother Raquel Marquez de Alonso. He is survived by his sister Nancy Marquez and his brother Tony Marquez. He leaves his daughter behind, Jasmine Marquez, 22 years old. He loved his daughter very much and spoke of her often to family and friends.
After graduating from Cibola High School in Yuma, Arizona in 1993 Alex moved to Phoenix. He lived in Phoenix with his brother Tony Marquez until 1998. Alex then moved to Salinas, CA. He considered it a highlight of his life to live in Salinas, CA as he loved photography and nature. In Salinas he fathered his daughter Jasmine who was the light of his life.
While in Phoenix, AZ he began working with Kodak with photography and photography equipment. One of his many passions was born.
After moving to Salinas, CA he continued working with photography and enjoyed the company of friends and family. All who visited were always welcome.
Alex was always very loving and kind to those who knew him well. He always had a story to tell and was willing to share whatever he had with him that day. He had a passion for computers and electronics. He had a passion for cars and mechanics. He was an inspiration to others by never giving up and always being positive.
Alex was a Catholic and always spiritual. He loved God very much. Alex would attend church services with his parents, sister and brother, and family as often as he could. His spirits were always high, and he brought joy to those he loved.
Alex always had a plan, he always told a story, and always make you smile. Alex will be missed very much by those he leaves behind. We will all hold a place in our heart for him when we see each other again.
Viewing Services will be held in Yuma, Arizona on Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Johnson Mortuary, 1415 S 1st Ave. Viewing from 5:00pm - 9:00pm.
Holy Mass Services will be held in Somerton, Arizona on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at 10:30am at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 310 W Spring Street, Somerton, AZ. After Services he will be taken and laid to rest at Desert Lawn Memorial Park located at 1415 S 1st Ave.
