She was born to Josephine N. Castaneda and Eulalio E. Castaneda and lived her life in Yuma, Arizona. She was a single mom for most of her life, and she loved all her children dearly. She worked as a Nurse’s Assistant and a Greeter at Sam’s Club. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She served the Lord at St. Francis of Assisi as a sacristan until weeks before her passing.
She also enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb, her flowers knew she adored them. She spent her life taking care of others, always listening with a loving and compassionate heart. There was always laughter in her home and a beautiful smile on her face. As a Yuma High School Criminal alumnus, she was proud to be a Crim and attended her class reunions. She is a child of God, a true prayer warrior for all people and causes. Her love was unconditional and if you were around her you did not doubt that she loved and cared about you.
She is survived by her children, Sylvia Welter (Mark), Irene Frankart (Adam), Eugene A. Lorona, and Marlene Lorona, sisters Catherine Urias and Olga M. Loprino.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine, and father, Eulalio Castaneda, brother, Eulalio A. Castaneda, sister Guadalupe Castaneda, great-granddaughter Juliette Delgado.
She had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Lowe, Alexander Frankart, Thomas Frankart, Jonathan Frankart, Aiden J. Lorona, and Stephen Loprino.
