Annie Elizabeth Dees

Annie Elizabeth Dees was born May 29, 1933 in Boley, Oklahoma. She passed away April 17, 2016, in Yuma AZ. Annie retired from Blue Bell Jean factory in 1987 after 24 years. She was then employed at Sun Quest Village until finally retiring in January 2000, doing what she loved, cooking.

She attended Union Baptist Missionary Church. There she held many offices as Choir President, Secretary & Treasury as well as Treasury of Mission, and as Kitchen Chairman for many years. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #56 since 1974.

She attended San Creek Elementary School in Boley, OK, until the untimely death of her mother in 1943. After her mother's passing her father moved the family to Yuma, AZ. She attended Fourth Avenue Grammar School and graduated from Yuma Union High School in 1951.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph M. Long and Lae Tisha Long; son, Bruce Anthony Dees; husband, Ralph R. Dees and siblings, Geraldine Taylor, Lonell Long and Lena Tomlin.

She is survived by her sons, Rickie E. Dees (Glenda) of Ventura, CA, Otis V. Dees (Yalanda) of Tucson, AZ; daughters, Desiree J. Broomer (Michael) of Newhall, CA and Tereese I. Clark (Stan deceased) of Yuma, AZ. Five granddaughters; Kimberlynn M. Williams (Darren) of Tucson, AZ, Nicole Lynn Dees of Phoenix, AZ, Tierra D. Clark of Phoenix, AZ, Temple A. Dees and Talia A Dees both of Tucson, AZ. Three grandsons, Darren M. Clark of Yuma, AZ, Kevin M. Dees of Phoenix, AZ and Travon E. Clark of Yuma, AZ. Two great grandsons, Craig Bandy of Mesa, AZ and Dionte Williams of Tucson, AZ. Six great granddaughters, Iyana Mary Williams, Kaylyn Monay Williams and Elyse Renae Williams all of Tucson, AZ, Addison G. Jose of Phoenix, AZ, Kamayah M. Dees of Tucson, AZ, and Kennedy Dees of Phoenix, AZ.

Visitation will be held at Johnson Chapel on Friday at 10 a.m. Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Johnson Mortuary Chapel with the interment to follow in the Garden of Psalms at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Yuma, Arizona.
