Daniel Abraham Crosby (39) of Yuma, Arizona passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving immediate family in Yuma, Arizona on Saturday October 5, 2024. He was born January 25, 1985, in Yuma, Arizona of Yuma County. Daniel’s blessing to our family, his Cerebral Palsy, taught us all the true meaning of unconditional love.
Daniel and his surviving sister, Valarie Lee Crosby (38), were raised in Tecumseh, Michigan of Lenawee County – the hometown of his late Father, Frank Leroy Crosby (69) and his late paternal Grandfather, Frank Nelson Crosby (98) with our surviving Mother, Maria Cecilia Orantes-Beltran (71). His nickname was Danny Boy.
Danny Boy attended Milton C. Porter Center for Special Education Services in Adrian, Michigan until 2004. He developed life skills, such as spooning his own pureed food, and drinking independently, with full supervision. Danny was the favorite in our family. We were always so proud of him! He genuinely loved life with his mother in Yuma and visiting his extended family in Mexico. Daniel enjoyed being spoken to in both English and Spanish. His favorite and only bilingual word ever spoken was “mama.”
Danny had a passion for smiling often, pureed foods (especially pizza!), chocolate milk, movies, being read to, car rides with his sister, and his four pets: A dog “Bear” (14), a cat “Dulce” (11), and two turtles, brother and sister, from Michigan “Liz” and “Cleve” (7). He was a member of United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Arizona in Yuma, Arizona.
He was proceeded in death by his both of his maternal grandparents, Grandfather, Vicente Orantes 9/20/1991 and maternal Grandmother, Paulina Orantes-Beltran 2/29/2016 both natives of northern Mexico. Services will be offered by Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a blessing of his everlasting place of rest at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Yuma, Arizona.
