Donald Albert Kelly, 62, of Winterhaven, California passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012, in Yuma, Arizona.
Born February. 14, 1950, in Peabody, Massachusetts, he was lead rigger for the U.S. government at Yuma Proving Ground.. Donald served our country proudly in the United States Army from 1968 to 1993, 23 years of service in Special Forces as a Freefall Jump Master.
He also enjoyed sewing parachutes, shooting firearms and was an avid movie watcher.
Don is survived by his wife, Donna L. Kelly of the home, and daughters, Kathleen Kelly of Texas and Colleen (Dan) Bowling. Don is also survived by his mother, Audrey Aldus. Also surviving are grandchildren, Vincent and Brianna Mayon of Texas, sisters Carol and Lorrie and brothers, Allen, Warren,and Neil. Also surviving are cousins, Nancy and John Kelly of California. Don was predeceased by his father, Cecil Albert Kelly on Easter Sunday 2012.
Military honors will be at 10 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2012 at Johnson Mortuary Chapel. Private cremation entrusted to Johnson Mortuary.
