Elena married Tommy Martinez on September 21, 1979. She was blessed with 5 children. She worked and retired from Mr. G's and Chili Pepper Mexican Restaurants as a General Manager for 35+ years.
Elena truly lived her life to the fullest. She spent her retirement days enjoying time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed the casino, music and dancing, and loved cooking for her family and friends. Elena was a hardcore Diamondbacks baseball fan. She never missed a game. On Sundays, she could be found enjoying her newspaper.
Elena is survived by her children, Anna Cazares (Ricky), Paco Martinez, Linda Gill (Albert), Sally Hernandez (Claudio) and Ray Martinez (Alma); as well as 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters Mary Angulo, Ramona Knighton, Rosa Rodriguez, her embracement family Robert Cazares, Maryann Arviso and Irene Sierra, along with many more family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Tommy Martinez, parents Francisco and Anita Mesa, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and grandson Francisco Martinez.
Pallbearers are Marci Cazares, Albert Gill, David Gill, Mandi Lopez, Andrew Gill, and Angela Gizzi.
Thank you, Mom for your love, nurturing, for the many talks, and for your delicious cooking. You are the strongest mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and the glue to our family circle. You will always be a legend in our eyes and hearts.
