

Born on August 2, 1946 in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, to the late David Ruiz and Loreto Ruiz, she was a woman of profound faith and unshakable strength.
Elidia, along with her seven siblings, Antonio, David, Antonia, Elena, Paulino, Maria Luisa, and Maria de la Luz attended public schools and were raised on their parent's ranch in San Luis, Rio Colorado, Mexico.
Elidia was united in holy matrimony to the late Carlos A. Hirales Jr., she dedicated her life to creating a warm, nurturing and loving home for her husband, their five children, Veronica, David, Blanca, Carla and Angela Hirales, including many God children, nieces and nephews. Ultimately embracing the role of a second Mother to her seventeen grandchildren David N., Briana P., Veronica N., Jazmin H., Vanessa S., Victor N., Carlos P., Vanessa P., Janessa B., David H., Michael P., Klarissa A., Glenn B., Bishop L., Ally A., Sergio O., and Tito A. She was also a huge part of her twenty seven great grandchildren, known for her warm kitchen and even warmer heart, Elidia believed that no one should ever leave her presence hungry either in stomach or spirit. She was the rock of our family, turning her home into a haven of laughter, safety and endless encouragement. Though she had already raised her own children, she stepped into a second round of early mornings, school runs, and dinners with fierce love, when her family needed her the most. Her family was her pride and joy, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and resilience in each one of them. Her life will forever be cherished by her entire family as she was an instrumental part of their lives. Elidia's loving, generous, insightful guidance has touched the lives of so many friends and family, even if you only met her once, she left a lasting impression with her vivacious and charming personality.
Elidia is preceded in death by her husband, Carlos A. Hirales Jr., her son David Hirales, her parents David, Loreto Ruiz; and her siblings, Antonio, David, Maria Luisa, and Maria de la Luz Ruiz.
Pallbearers: David Neblina, Victor Neblina, Carlos Padilla, David Hirales, Michael Padilla, Bishop Laurenzana, Glenn Baxter III, Sergio Orozco, Tito Alvarez and Paulino Ruiz.
A visitation will be held at Johnson Mortuary & Desert Lawn Memorial Park, located at 1415 South 1st Ave, Yuma, AZ 85364, on February 26, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at the same location on February 26, 2026, at 6:00 pm.
The funeral mass will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 505 S Avenue B, Yuma, AZ 85364, on February 27, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
A graveside service will follow at Johnson Mortuary & Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1415 South 1st Ave, Yuma, AZ 85364, on February 27, 2026, at 1:30 pm.
