
Born November 3, 1937, in Yonkers, NY., and was the daughter of late Catherine (Phalen) and John Gardner. Elizabeth graduated from Roe Jan High in 1955. In 1956, Elizabeth married John J. Malloy and had three boys John, Kevin, and Dennis. Elizabeth had her hands full when John was deployed. In 1967, Elizabeth lost her husband John in the Vietnam War. Left to raise three boys by herself she moved to San Diego, California where she later married her second husband Thomas E. Sebeck. Together they had one daughter, Colleen.
Elizabeth was known for her Christmas cookies. She would bake enough cookies for the whole family for the holidays. She also loved to travel. She would go anywhere that had an ocean or a race track. Elizabeth loved to attend the Yuma Speedway to watch John, her son race. What Elizabeth love most of all was spending time with family and friends. Elizabeth moved to Yuma, Arizona in 1981 and was a co-owner of Suburban Sanitation in Yuma.
Elizabeth is survived by her children John (Linda) Malloy of Yuma, Arizona, Dennis (Karen) Malloy of Copake, New York, Colleen (David) Black of San Antonio Texas, 7 grandchildren; Gered (Melissa) Starr, Medea (Tim) Copeland, Beth (Stephen) Keyser, Amy (Andrew) Keute, Melissa (Kellen) Elmore, Christine Black, Kelly (Cody) Gosch, 13 great grandchildren, and sister Catherine (Tony) Winney.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Catherine and John Gardner, husbands John Malloy and Thomas Sebeck, son Kevin Malloy, and brother John Gardner.
The family would also like to thank Mariah Gilmore for the love and kindness she has showed Betty over the years she helped care for her. Per Elizabeth’s wishes, her service will be private.
